Ribbon Cutting for Miles Mack Playground

JMT Architecture celebrated the ribbon cutting at Miles Mack Playground on September 29, 2021. The event honored the namesake, a local resident who founded a neighborhood basketball league to combat youth violence and was tragically shot during a basketball tournament.

Our team enjoyed working with the Rebuild Philadelphia team to design and deliver this impactful community amenity to Philadelphia’s Mantua neighborhood. Improvements to the facility include the addition of an entry canopy, signage, new and enlarged window openings, door replacement, roof replacement, interior updates, and accessibility upgrades. JMT Architecture and MEP and structural engineers were involved in the design. The recreation center is also finished with refreshed wall murals completed by Mural Arts Philadelphia.
