McDonough Hall Renovations
Georgetown University Law Center

Modernization of Georgetown University Law Center’s eleven lecture halls, main auditorium, and several seminar rooms located in McDonough Hall, originally constructed in 1970. The project required the classrooms to be completely reconfigured providing more space per seat, integrated state-of-the-art technology, enhanced teaching walls, improved finishes and furnishings and code and handicapped accessibility compliance.

Updated mechanical and electrical systems were designed to provide quiet heating and air-conditioning with improved temperature and humidity control. The electrical design also provides student access to power at every classroom seat, as well as new LED fixtures that provide glare-free, energy efficient lighting.

Classroom design includes fully digital audio and visual presentation systems with integrated distance-learning capabilities, lecture capture/recording capabilities and consolidated, simplified user/presenter interfaces. New controls integrate AV systems, shades, lighting, and screens from new instructor stations.
